I lost a loved one right before Christmas. Flying during a pandemic is difficult, but I needed to go home and be with my mom. I went for a covid test and only 12 hours before boarding the plane I received my negative result. What a relief! The flight was routine but still stressful as everything with Covid. . I was ready to be quarantined after arrival as long as needed. I was ready to stay in line for investigating questions to enter the country. It was stressful. My second plane was full, all seats occupied. :-( At arrival, there were 400 passengers in the line in front of me. ( I have not seen that many people in one room since last year.) Some people tried to keep the suggested distance while others didn’t care. The first officer was nice and polite and it was great to finally be in the country. What happened next was the worst; just a couple of yards before the exit, a customs officer stopped me. I was not ready for that. He took apart my luggage, questioned the necessity of my trip during covid. I had already answered many of the questions before and felt on edge to burst into tears. I just wanted to be let go. ( I understand that it was his duty) He finally noticed my feeling and apologized and let me go. I was finally on the way to meet my mom and mourn with her. ----------- We don’t talk about our pain We don’t talk about our inner lives We don’t talk about who we lost We don’t complain We don’t list to show our weaknesses Be kind, and have a wonderful 2021

Just look for some good solutions! . When I took an old recipe and I was ready to bake it, but..... But one ingredient was missing. Vanilla. and I was lazy enough not to jump in the car, drive to the grocery store and buy that small little package or essence or the real vanilla bean. Yes, I was too lazy and it was not economical. So instead of Vanilla, I added a little rum, because I had that at home. Changed the recipe, changed the flavor.... and still got a really great ( but different) cookie! . . .
